Suspicious package investigation closes St Albert Trail

Police say a little girl left inside a parked car during extreme heat in Edmonton has died in hospital.

EDMONTON – One person is in custody in connection with a suspicious package that forced the closure of part of St Albert Trail Thursday morning.

Police shut down north and south bound lanes of St Albert Trail north of the Yellowhead around 8:30 a.m. while they investigated a suspicious package.

There is no word on any charges at this time.

Both lanes were reopened at around 9:30 a.m.
