SUDBURY, Ont. – Kyle Maksimovich scored twice and Sasha Chmelevski scored a goal and assisted on two more as the Ottawa 67’s beat the Sudbury Wolves 8-5 on Tuesday to move a win away from the third round of the Ontario Hockey League playoffs.

Lucas Chiodo, Lucas Peric, Kody Clark, Jack Quinn and Tye Felhaber also scored for Ottawa, which leads the best-of-seven series 3-0.

Shane Bulitka, Owen Gilhula, Macauley Carson, Adam Ruzicka and Jack Thompson supplied the offence for the Wolves.

67’s goaltender Michael DiPietro stopped 21 shots. Sudbury’s Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 33 saves.

The Wolves host Game 4 on Thursday.

OSHAWA, Ont. — Serron Noel struck twice as the Generals downed Niagara to cut their series deficit to 2-1.

Kyle Bollers and Brett Neumann also scored for Oshawa.

Jason Robertson had the lone goal for the IceDogs.

SPIRIT 7 GREYHOUNDS 5

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. — Owen Tippett had an empty-net goal and two assists to power Saginaw over the Greyhounds for a 3-0 lead in their second-round playoff series.

Cole Coskey, DJ Busdeker, Bode Wilde, Brady Gilmour, Camaryn Baber and Cole Perfetti also scored for the Spirit, who rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the first period.

Joe Carroll led Sault Ste. Marie with two goals. Morgan Frost, Barrett Hayton and Jaromir Pytlik also scored.
