Two people are facing a number of charges in three armed robberies in Saskatoon.

Police said the most recent robbery happened Tuesday morning at 21st Street West and Avenue V South.

A man said he was robbed of his 2012 Ford Escape, cellphone and cigarettes by someone armed with a gun.

Officers found the vehicle heading west on 22nd Street and tried unsuccessfully to stop it with a spike belt, Saskatoon police said.

Members of the air support unit said they saw the vehicle park behind an apartment building in the 600 block of Avenue X South and watched two flee into an apartment building in the 600 block of Avenue W South.

Patrol officers entered the building and arrested two people, police said, along with seizing a loaded sawed-off rifle.

A 19-year-old woman is charged with robbery, breach of an undertaking, and breach of a youth probation order. She was also wanted on a number of outstanding warrants in Saskatoon and Spiritwood, Sask.

A 24-year-old man is facing five firearm-related offences, along with robbery, dangerous driving, and breach of probation charges. He was also wanted on outstanding warrants.

Both also charged with robbery, aggravated assault, intent to commit a crime while wearing a disguise in two robberies from Feb. 21.
