1 man dead, 3 people injured in early morning Maple Ridge collision: RCMP

An early morning Maple Ridge collision has left one man dead and three people in hospital. Global News

One man is dead and three others are in hospital after a serious collision in Maple Ridge early Friday morning.

According to Ridge Meadows RCMP, the crash happened around 5:40 a.m. near the intersection of Gilker Hill and Kanaka Way.

Police said a Mazda 3 with a male driver and two male passengers collided with a Nissan Pathfinder with a female driver.

Maple Ridge mourns death of 16-year-old girl in crash

The male driver was killed, while one of his passengers was airlifted to hospital. The female driver and the other male passenger were also taken to hospital by ground ambulance.

All three are listed in stable condition.

Police closed the area to traffic while the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service investigated. The route was reopened around 11:30 a.m.
