Brantford police have suspended an officer caught up in a sex case involving a minor.
Det. Const. Andrew Balog, 41, has been charged with ‘communicating for the purposes of obtaining sexual services from a person under 18 years.’

Balog, a 14-year veteran with the force, has been suspended with pay, as per the guidelines set out in the Police Services Act of Ontario.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Provincial Court of Justice in Brantford on April 25, 2019.

In a statement, the Brantford Police Service said it “will not be releasing any further information in regards to this incident.”
