TORONTO – Police are searching for a suspect after a $26,000 bottle was stolen from a LCBO store earlier this month.
According to police, a man was browsing the Vintages section of a liquor store on Cooper Street just before 2 p.m. on April 7.
He picked up a bottle of 50-year-old Glenfiddich Single Malt scotch and a bottle of wine.
Investigators said the man paid for the bottle of wine but left the store without paying for the bottle of scotch.
The suspect is described as white, 35-40 years old and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing black-framed glasses, a Burberry plaid shirt, brown hat, brown trench coat and black jeans.
Police said the bottle is extremely rare, with only 15 bottles in Ontario and 50 worldwide.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5100 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
