Halifax man’s unsolved shooting death added to Nova Scotia’s crime rewards program

The unsolved killing of a 25-year-old man in Spryfield, N.S., has been added to the province’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program.

Halifax Regional Police were called to a weapons complaint on Clovis Avenue just before 9 p.m. on Nov. 23, 2018.

The man was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was later identified by police as 25-year-old Ryan Michael Nehiley.

Investigators believe Nehiley was shot inside his home and that more than one person was involved in the offence.

“The family has suffered a terrible loss and they deserve closure,” Justice Minister Mark Furey said in a statement.

“I join police in asking anyone with information to please come forward if you know something about this crime.”

Nova Scotia’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program offers a reward of up to $150,000 to anyone who shares information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the crime.

Those who come forward with information must provide their name and contact information, may be called to testify in court, and all calls will be recorded.
