The wall of snow roared down the side of a mountain in Ten Mile Canyon on Sunday afternoon, swallowing up vehicles on Interstate 70.

Shaune Golemon was driving with his family on the highway when they braced for the impact, capturing the moment on dash-cam video. The footage shows the wave of snow completely whiting the section of highway, covering Golemon’s vehicle in an instant.

Jacob Easton was travelling on the interstate in the opposite direction, capturing the avalanche on dash-cam video, as it rolled down the mountainside.

“All of a sudden, me and my dad just saw a big white cloud to the left of us and we instantly noticed the avalanche,” Easton told FOX31. “It’s exciting, but pretty nerve wracking, because you don’t know when it’s going to stop.”

Video shows the wall of snow covering the highway just in front of Easton’s vehicle.

According to CBS, several avalanche warnings were issued for the area as more snowfall was expected.
