A recall warning of debittered brewer’s yeast earlier this month has been updated to include additional products sold in Peterborough and Lindsay.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s initial recall on Feb. 11 included various brands of debittered brewer’s yeast because they contain peanut which was not declared on the label.

On Thursday, the CFIA added all Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods 1-pound product sold at the same-name store up to and including Feb. 27.

The recall impacts Peterborough Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods stores at 1260 Lansdowne St. West, 904 Water St. N. and a store on 84 Russell St. W. in Lindsay.

“If you have an allergy to peanut, do not consume the recalled products as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction,” the CFIA states.

The CFIA says to throw out all recalled products or return them to the store.

Consumers who are unsure if they have purchased the affected products are advised to contact their retailer.
