Two teenage boys, aged 18 and 17, from the Lower Mainland have gone missing near Merritt.
The two had been camping at the family property at the north end of Nicola Lake.
RCMP members and Search and Rescue crews spent the night searching the area around Nicola Lake, just east of Merritt.
The RCMP dive team was called to assist on Monday morning after the canoe belonging to the teens was found overturned in the lake by a helicopter.
The vehicle belonging to the teenagers was found at the Nicola Bay RV park. RCMP also found all of the boys’ personal belongings at the campsite. The local caretaker said he had seen the two earlier that day, but did not see them later.
The duo were scheduled to return home to Langley on Sunday, but they never arrived. Merritt RCMP received a call at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.
RCMP say there is no further information at this time.
