Alberta homicide victim identified as 41-year-old Edmonton man

A man found dead north of Edmonton earlier this month has been identified, as police continue to search for suspects in the homicide.

Edmonton resident Trevor Emery Wortman, 41, has been identified as the man whose body was found on a rural property in Sturgeon County on Feb. 11.

Police said Wortman’s body was found on a lease site off Range Road 224, about half a mile north of Highway 28, which is west of the town of Redwater.

The Edmonton medical examiner’s office conducted an autopsy on Feb. 14, and found Wortman died as the result of a homicide.

Redwater RCMP and Major Crimes North want to speak with anyone who may have been in contact with Wortman before Feb. 11 or may have noticed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area where his body was found.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Redwater RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
