Brandon man threatens drivers on Hwy 6, semis block roadway

RCMP Grand Rapids detachment. RCMP

A man who was standing in the middle of the highway, threatening to shoot people, and acting violently and erratically toward drivers has been arrested.

RCMP said they were called to Highway 6 north of Grand Rapids on Saturday morning, where the agitated man was becoming increasing violent.

Police said at one point, the man began punching and banging his head against a semi’s window while threatening the driver. A number of semis had stopped at the scene and blocked off the highway with their vehicles while waiting for police.

After making the arrest, officers found a vehicle just north of the scene that was connected to the man. A woman was spotted leaving the woods and walking toward the vehicle. She was searched and found with meth.

Charges are pending against a 42-year-old woman, also from Brandon.
