Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that covers the Guelph area and Waterloo region as snow is expected to fall in southern Ontario on Wednesday.
The agency said the snow will reach the area early in the morning and continue throughout the day before ending in the evening.
About 10 centimetres is expected to fall, but some areas near Lake Erie and Lake Ontario could see up to 15 centimetres.
“This snow event will be yet another in a series of low-pressure systems,” the agency said.
Environment Canada said the heaviest snow will fall in the afternoon and that there could be a significant impact on the commute home.
Drivers should allow for extra time to reach their destinations, as untreated roads may become slippery.
