The body of 26-year-old Danielle Twoheart of Winnipeg, who died at a resort in Dominican Republic, has been returned to Canada.
Twoheart’s family told Global News that her body was returned to Winnipeg on Sunday.
Twoheart was on a trip with her mother Holly when she was found dead at her resort. Authorities say she fell from her balcony, although her family continues to search for answers as to how the fall happened.
Holly said Danielle was found lying on the grass in front of the three-storey building where they were staying, but how she got there, and what exactly happened during the hours in between, remains unclear.
The wake service for Twoheart will begin Monday night in Winnipeg and continues on for two more nights in Fort Alexander.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Thursday.
Earlier this month, Canadian officials said they were looking into the situation.
