Pedestrian dies in hit-and-run collision on Pleasant Street in Dartmouth

Halifax police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run early Friday.

A 57-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 350 Pleasant St. at around 5:50 a.m.

Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved in the collision did not stay at the scene. Police also note there is no vehicle or driver description available.

Investigators from the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section are conducting the investigation.

Police say the pedestrian’s identity will not be released until next of kin are notified.
