Police say a young person has died after he was found with life-threatening injuries at a residence in Barrie.
Just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday, according to Barrie police, a male victim under the age of 18 was located at a residence on Penvill Trail suffering from life-threatening injuries.
Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say one young person under the age of 18 is currently in custody and the investigation is ongoing.

According to police, the victim and suspect resided at the same residence, but were not related.
Police say the identity of the deceased will not be released until a forensic post-mortem examination is completed at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.
Officers say the investigation is isolated in nature, and there is no threat to public safety.
