Zach Collaros, 30, has chosen to stay with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Riders announced Tuesday they had re-signed the international free agent to a one-year contract for the 2019 season.

A veteran of seven CFL seasons, the Steubenville, Ohio, native spent his first two years with the Toronto Argonauts, with whom he won his only career Grey Cup in 2012 as a backup quarterback.

Collaros signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as a free agent in January 2014. Over four seasons with the Ti-Cats, he started 43 of 53 regular-season games as well as two playoff games and the 2014 Grey Cup.

Saskatchewan traded a second-round pick, 10th overall, in the 2018 draft to Hamilton for Collaros in January 2018.

He completed 234 of 382 pass attempts for 2,999 yards and nine touchdowns, registering 10 wins in 14 starts last year. During the 2018 season, the Riders finished with the league’s second-best record at 12-6 and were eliminated in the West semifinal.

Terms of the new contract weren’t released by the team.
