TORONTO – As the manhunt for Dzhokar Tsarnaev, the remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombing continues Friday, new details about the life of the 19-year-old suspect continue to emerge as those who claim to know the young man react online.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev, known to the FBI as Suspect No. 1 and seen in surveillance footage in a black baseball cap, was killed in a gun battle with police in Massachusetts overnight, according to officials. His brother, Dzhokar Tsarnaev – dubbed as Suspect No. 2 and seen wearing a white, backwards baseball cap in the images from Monday’s deadly bombing at the marathon finish line – escaped.

Dzhokar Tsarnaev was trending on Twitter worldwide as the manhunt unfolded.

There was some confusion Friday morning surrounding an allegedly fake Twitter account using Tsarnaev’s name @ Dzhokhar_A.

The account was created on Friday and only sent its first tweet at 7:30 a.m. EDT – calling the validity of the account into question.

The account tweeted at the official Boston Police Twitter account directly five times saying, “I will kill you as you killed my brother.”

Another Twitter account, created in December 2012, has been circulating social media, also using the name Dzhokar Tsarnaev, but has not been confirmed as Tsarnaev’s real Twitter account.

A profile on Vkontakte – a popular Russian social media network similar to Facebook – using the account name Tsarnaev describes the user’s worldview as “Islam” and, asked to identify “the main thing in life,” answers “career and money.”

Those who claim to have known Tsarnaev reacted with shock on social media.

NOTE: Global News has not verified any of these tweets.
