Update: Feb. 13, 2019 – Police say James Burnside has turned himself in to police in Saint John.
Police in Saint John say warrants have been issued for three men who are unlawfully at large, and are asking for the public’s help in finding them.
The public is urged not to approach the men, however.
According to press releases put out by the force, the men each “walked away” from the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre, a federal halfway house on Carleton Street.
The first offender they are looking for is Nico Soubliere, who is serving a six-year and eight-month sentence for manslaughter and assault causing bodily harm.
Apprehension warrants for Soubliere were issued on Aug. 8, 2018. A previous news release indicated Soubliere had cut off his electronic monitoring anklet.
It’s unclear where he is at this time, although he is known to have connections to Ontario and Nova Scotia.
The second person police are looking for is James Burnside, who is serving a federal sentence of two years, six months and 29 days for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
A Canada-wide warrant was issued Jan. 28 when he walked away from the Parrtown Centre.
Burnside has connections to Saint John.
He is described as being five feet 11 inches tall, 242 pounds, with several tattoos including a neck tattoo.
The third offender police are looking for is Darren Brent Snell, who is serving a three-year and 11-month sentence for robbery, assault on a peace officer and assault with a weapon.
Snell walked away from the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre on Feb. 4. His whereabouts are unknown, although he has ties to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
He is described as being five feet nine inches tall, 183 pounds, with several tattoos, including one on his right hand.
The Saint John major crime unit is investigating all three incidents.
The Parrtown Community Correctional Centre is a halfway house for federal inmates on conditional release.
