Police bust illegal cannabis store in Saskatoon for 3rd time in 3 months

Police said they have busted an illegal cannabis store in downtown Saskatoon for the third time in three months.

Members of the vice unit, along with the Saskatoon drug enforcement street team, searched the store in the 100-block of 2nd Avenue South last week and seized numerous items.

Saskatoon police allege the outlet continues to sell illegal and unregulated cannabis and cannabis-related products without a licence.

Four employees are facing charges under the province’s Cannabis Control Act.

Police raided the store on Jan. 22 and charged three employees with possession of cannabis known to be illicit, distribution of more than 30 grams of cannabis, and possession of more than 30 grams of cannabis.

Five employees were each issued three tickets in a search on Dec. 20, 2018.

Dry cannabis, cannabis oils, edibles, and concentrates were seized in that search, police said at the time.
