The Saskatchewan government said $10.2 million was raised in February during the final public offering of Crown petroleum and natural gas rights for the fiscal year.
Officials said most of the attention was focused in the Kindersley area, with five exploration licences west of Kerrobert bringing in $5.6 million.
“Saskatchewan’s positive investment climate is based on our accessible resources as well as the priority we place on our stakeholders,” Energy and Resources Minister Bronwyn Eyre said in a statement.
“We will continue to work closely with industry for ways to provide as much certainty as we can for investment.”
The province said a total of $57.5 million was raised in the six offerings during the 2018-19 fiscal year, below the budget forecast of $63.9 million.
Officials said the average price per hectare for the year was $596, up from $316 per hectare in 2017-18.
The next public offering is on April 9.
