A New Brunswick man has been sentenced to 30 months in jail after pleading guilty to producing, distributing and possessing child pornography.
Richard Dorion, 28, from Grande-Anse, N.B., was sentenced Jan. 30 in Caraquet provincial court.
In addition to the jail time, Dorion will be added to the National Sex Offender Registry for life, be required to submit a DNA sample, and is under strict conditions not to be around children for the next 14 years.

As well, the devices that were used to commit the offences will be forfeited.

His charges stem from an investigation by the New Brunswick RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, which includes members of the Saint John Police Force and Kennebecasis Regional Police Force. The investigation led to a search warrant being executed at Dorion’s home in Grande-Anse on Sept. 6, 2017.
The RCMP’s Technological Crime Unit and Caraquet RCMP were also involved in the investigation.
