A cadet at the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ont., is facing several charges of assault.
According to a National Defence news release, the alleged victim is another member of the Canadian Armed Forces.
On Jan. 21, the person reported an incident to the military police in Kingston. According to a National Defence news release, the investigation was immediately handed to the Canadian Forces National Investigation Service (CFNIS).

On Jan. 25, Cody Carter was charged with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of assault.
CFNIS says the alleged incidents of sexual assault and assault occurred between September 2015 and May 2017 at various locations in Ontario and Quebec.
Carter will be facing those charges in civilian criminal court and will appear in court in Kingston in late February.
