The extreme cold hangs over much of Manitoba, as a bitter Arctic air mass will linger today before easing off.
Wednesday overnight temperatures combined with wind made it feel like -45 in Winnipeg.

According to Weather Specialist Kahla Shea, the worst of the cold temperatures are over, and the weather will start to improve.
Shea says a light snowfall is expected to start Thursday evening and continue overnight.

On Friday the temperature will jump almost 10 degrees, bringing Winnipeg close to average seasonal temperatures.
Early snow estimates for Winnipeg is between 15 and 20 cm.
