Tiger-Cats re-sign McMaster alum Mike Daly

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed Canadian defensive back Mike Daly.

The McMaster University product started all 18 regular season games with Hamilton in 2018. Daly, 28, registered career highs in defensive tackles (53), interceptions (tie-3) and passes defended (7), and posting his first career touchdown after returning an interception 58 yards for a score on Sept. 29 versus B.C.

Daly also started both of Hamilton’s playoff games at safety last season, and was the team’s nominee for the CFL’s Jake Gaudaur Veterans’ Award for strength, perseverance, courage, comradeship and contribution to Canadian communities.

In 69 career CFL games over five seasons with the Tiger-Cats (2014-18), the six-foot-one, 189-pound native of Kitchener, Ont., has registered 77 defensive tackles, 31 special teams tackles, seven interceptions, one quarterback sack, one forced fumble and 11 passes defended.

Daly was selected by Hamilton in the sixth round, 45th overall, in the 2013 CFL Draft.
