Kitchener, Waterloo declare snow event, street parking suspended

The cities of Kitchener and Waterloo have declared snow events for this evening.

This means that overnight parking will not be allowed on any street in Waterloo beginning tonight at 11:59 p.m.

In Kitchener, there is no parking allowed on city streets for a 24-hour period beginning at 11:59 p.m.

In a release, the Waterloo says it has done so to allow for a cleanup of city streets as rain has been forecast to follow the recent snowfall.

If a car is parked on a city street in either city during the snow event, it could be towed at the owner’s expense and the car could also be ticketed.

Waterloo says it will also temporarily shut down its overnight parking service to stop registrations.
