Man wanted in connection to suspicious death

WINNIPEG – A 42-year-old man with a history of mental illness is wanted by Winnipeg Police in connection with a suspicious death investigation that began Saturday morning.

Christopher MacKenzie Campbell has been identified as a suspect in the incident that saw police called to a home on Alexander Avenue around 11:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a woman’s body. The Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit is investigating.

Police believe Campbell travelled to the Regina, Saskatchewan area. A vehicle associated to Campbell and the victim was found a few kilometers outside of Regina on Saturday.

Campbell may be travelling through the western provinces heading to an unknown destination, according to a statement issued by police Saturday evening.

Police said Campbell has a history of mental illness but did not provide details.

There’s information to suggest Campbell had not recently been taking his required medication. Police say people should use caution if approaching Campbell as his behavior may be violent and unpredictable.

Anyone with information on Campbell’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police.
