One dead after shooting in Plateau-Mont-Royal borough

A 31-year-old man has died after a shooting in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough early Monday morning.

Montreal police officers found him at the corner of St-Laurent Boulevard and Mont-Royal Avenue with bullet wounds in his upper body.

Police chased a vehicle as it fled the scene, eventually catching up to three 25-year-old men in the car, on Notre-Dame Street and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard.

One of the men was suffering from bullet wounds to the upper body and was taken to hospital. As of Monday afternoon, police say he remains in critical condition.

The other two were arrested onsite.

Police said they plan to interrogate the suspects Monday and call up security camera footage to shed light on the incident.

The area has reopened to traffic.

An investigation is underway.
