UFC ramps up mixed martial arts hype in Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – The world’s biggest mixed martial arts company is cranking up the anticipation for Winnipeg UFC fans.

Ultimate Fighting Championship 161 is coming to Winnipeg on June 15. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday and in advance of the ticket blitz, UFC held a news conference Wednesday afternoon at The Met to promote the event. The news conference was open to the public.

The co-main events are interim bantamweight champion Renan Barao versus Eddie Wineland, both of whom were at Wednesday’s press conference, and light heavyweights Rogerio “Lil Nog” Norgueira versus Maurico “Shogun” Rua.
