A 63-year-old man has died following a head-on crash with a snow plow on Larry Uteck Boulevard Friday morning.
Halifax Regional Police say the crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. as snow was beginning to fall in the city.
According to police, the snow plow was travelling outbound on Larry Uteck Boulevard towards Kearney Lake Road at the time of the incident.
A Facebook post from NSICC says Al Shweetar was on his way back after Fajr prayer. He died at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, according to the post.

“I testify that he was amongst people of prayer, always came to Fajr even before anybody showed up,” the post reads.

The snow plow operator was uninjured.
The section of road was closed for a few hours, but has since reopened.
