Man in life-threatening condition after shooting in Toronto’s east end

Toronto emergency services says one man is in life-threatening condition after a shooting in the city’s east end.

Police said they were called to Nugget Avenue and McCowan Road, after the sound of gunshots was reported just after 4 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officers said when they arrived on scene they found a man lying on the ground of a parking lot in the area suffering from gunshot wounds.

A Toronto Paramedic Services spokesperson told Global News that a victim in his 20s was taken to a trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

As of 3 p.m. Sunday, there was no update on the victim’s condition, nor was there suspect information available.
