Winnipeg’s Prairie Fire beat Calgary at ringette nationals

FREDERICTON – Andrea Ferguson scored twice as the Winnipeg Prairie Fire beat the Calgary RATH 5-1 at the Canadian ringette championships on Wednesday.

Ferguson’s sister Ainsley also scored for Winnipeg, which remained undefeated at the tournament at 4-0-0.

Meanwhile, Salla Kyhala scored four goals as the defending National Ringette League champions BC Thunder held off the Atlantic Attack 7-6.

Goaltender Meghan Pittaway made 51 for the Cambridge Turbos in a 7-2 win over the Richmond Hill Lightning, and Kelsey Youldon scored in double overtime for the Gloucester Devils who beat the Montreal Mission 5-4.

The RATH and Turbos are tied in second at 3-1-0, followed by Gloucester, BC and Montreal two points back in a three-way tie for third.
