Crews put out fire at grain elevator near Unity, Sask.

Firefighters battled a blaze at a grain elevator roughly one kilometre east of Unity, Sask., on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the structure fire at North West Terminal’s inland-grain terminal around 7:20 a.m. CT on Thursday.

The blaze was contained to a grain dryer, however, the business was evacuated due to its proximity to the main offices.

Unity Fire and Rescue said crews left the scene around 4:45 p.m.

The cause is undetermined at this time.

Unity is roughly 175 kilometres west of Saskatoon.
