Leafs acquire Ryan O’Byrne from Colorado

TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Ryan O’Byrne from the Colorado Avalanche minutes before the trade deadline.

The Leafs traded a conditional 4th round draft pick to the Colorado Avalanche for the 6’5” defenseman on Wednesday.

O’Byrne was drafted 79th overall in 2003 by the Montreal Canadiens where he played until 2010 when he was traded to the Avalanche.

He’s tallied one goal, three assists, 48 penalty minutes and is -8 so far this season.

The 28-year-old has only tallied 10 points once in his NHL career.
