Sask. addresses mould, structural after temporary closure at health centre

INVERMAY, Sask. – The Saskatchewan government says it will spend $2.8 million to get rid of mould and fix structural problems at a hospital in Invermay near Yorkton.

Long-term care patients and staff had to move to other facilities in the Sunrise Health Region in January after the problems were discovered.

The province says the repairs should be completed within six months.

Health Minister Dustin Duncan says it’s a top priority to provide a comfortable and safe place for long-term residents to stay.

The health region is also assessing a cracked ceiling beam at the Gateway Lodge in Canora.
