A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Saint-Léonard that left one man dead and another in critical conditional.
Police say they received a call around 8:25 p.m. on Thursday from a man who had been shot in a building on Lafrenaie Street near Magloire Street.

Officers were able to locate a 21-year-old man, who was transported to hospital in critical condition. His condition was upgraded to stable by Friday afternoon.
As officers searched the area, they found a second man, 53, who had also been shot. His death was confirmed at the scene.

Police say the suspect was arrested around 11 a.m. Friday morning.
He is being held in a detention centre, where investigators are expected to meet with him.
It is the 17th homicide of 2018 on the island of Montreal.
