It took Saskatoon firefighters just over 40 minutes to bring a house fire that caused $40,000 in damage under control Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to the 300-block of Avenue R South just after 8 a.m. CT for a report of smoke coming from an attic of a home.
The first firefighters to arrive spotted smoke and encountered more smoke when they entered the house.
A fire burning in the basement was put out in 50 minutes.
No one was inside the home and no injuries were reported.
A Saskatoon Fire Department investigator has not yet determined the cause.
