One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash on a southern Alberta highway Friday morning.
The crash happened shortly after 6:40 a.m. on Highway 36 between township roads 102 and 104, about six kilometres north of Taber, Alta.
Police believe an SUV was heading north on Highway 36 when it collided with a pick-up truck heading south on the highway.
The driver of the truck was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries and pronounced dead on the way to hospital, RCMP said in a news release Friday afternoon.
The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital in Lethbridge with serious injuries.
Highway 36 was closed for several hours on Friday but has since reopened. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
