Vernon RCMP are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a corn stand Tuesday and police have a pretty good lead thanks to a quick thinking employee.
The incident happened at around 4 p.m. at a Sparks corn stand on Kalamalka Road near 11th Avenue where a man produced a knife, demanding cash.
“The employee complied with the demands, handing over an un-disclosed amount of cash. The suspect male then then fled the area in an older style small blue Ford pick-up truck prior to police arrival,” Cst. Kelly Brett said.
Despite the ordeal, RCMP said the victim managed to take a photo of the suspect’s vehicle after the robbery.
“The employee was understandably very shaken up after the incident, however still had the wherewithal to snap a photo of the suspect vehicle as it fled. The RCMP want to commend the youth employee for complying to avoid any personal injury.”
The suspect is described as being about six feet tall, scruffy blonde and red beard, wearing glasses and a hat.
