A 45-year-old man has died after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Boulevard Samson in Laval’s Chomedey district.
Lt. Frédéric Jean with Laval police said it happened Saturday night at around 10: 30.
The pedestrian was crossing Boulevard Samson, near de Cherbourg Avenue, when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.

Paramedics attempted to revive the victim, but he was declared dead at the scene by an Urgences-santé doctor.
Jean said the driver involved in the crash — a 38-year-old man — remained on site and collaborated with the investigation.
“Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash,” Jean said, adding investigators believe the death was accidental.
“The pedestrian was walking quickly,” Jean said, but he crossed between two vehicles — not at an intersection.
Jean described the area as residential and explained that intersections on the boulevard were quite spaced out.
