Friday

Severe thunderstorms rolled through Saskatoon early Friday morning with lots of lightning and 9.3 millimetres of rain recorded at the airport.

Storms cleared out of the area by daybreak as temperatures dipped back into the low teens to start before partly to mostly cloudy skies and a breezy southwesterly wind warmed us up into the mid 20s by noon.

Some clouds spring up with a risk of showers and storms across central Saskatchewan Friday afternoon as we heat up toward the upper 20s for an afternoon high, which will feel like 30 with humidity.

Friday Night

Clouds roll back in Thursday evening with a good chance of thunderstorms rolling through overnight as we cool back into the mid-teens.

Saturday

Partly to mostly cloudy skies kickoff August long weekend early Saturday with showers and thunderstorms rolling through by midday and into the afternoon and evening.

Multiple waves of rain and storms are possible during the day along a trough sweeping through, kicking up breezy northwesterly winds gusting up to 40 km/h, which temperatures in the low-to-mid 20s.

The chance of pockets of showers and thunderstorms will linger into Sunday, but become less frequent as clouds stick around throughout much of the day before some late day clearing.

Winds will ease right back during the day with an afternoon high seeking to slide up into the mid-20s.

Holiday Monday is shaping up to be the most marvelous of August long weekend by a long shot.

Mostly sunny skies will return with just a very slight chance of late day showers and storms as the mercury climbs up into the upper 20s to round of what will be a beautiful Saskatchewan Day across the province.

Work Week Outlook

Heat really cranks up for the short work week and Saskatoon Ex with temperatures sliding all the way up into the low 30s Tuesday and Wednesday before pumping up even further into the mid-30s Thursday and Friday.

The heat will come with lots of sunshine, so get the sunscreen, sun hats and sunglasses ready if you’re planning to head down to the Ex grounds.
