Regina is primarily a government town, so that means not a whole lot will be open during the Civic Holiday on Monday, August 6. However, certain city buildings and services will still be open.

If you’re looking for help keeping the kids occupied, most leisure centres will be open. The Sandra Schmirler Centre and North West Leisure Centre are both open from noon until 6 p.m.

The city’s outdoor pools will be open from noon until 8 p.m. If you want to take an earlier dip, the Wascana Pool is opens four hours earlier at 8 a.m.

The pool at the Lawson Aquatic Centre will be closed for annual maintenance. However, the strength and conditioning area will be open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. The Fieldhouse will be open for the same hours.

To get around the city, Regina Transit will be running on Sunday routes and schedules. The transit information office and RideLine will be closed Monday. Paratranist Service will run on its holiday schedule from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you’re heading downtown you can save some change because parking meters will not be in effect.

If you’re in Regina’s downtown to stop by City Hall, reschedule those plans for Tuesday. All civic offices will be closed on Monday.

The Neil Balkwill Civic Arts Centre/Art Gallery of Regina will also be closed.

Long weekend activities, like BBQs, can create a lot of garbage. If Monday is your garbage or recycling pick-up day, drag out your bins, because this collection will happen on its normal Monday schedule.
