Charlie Sheen is claiming that he can no longer afford child support after being “blacklisted” in Hollywood.

Sheen filed requests to modify his child support payments to his ex-wives Brooke Mueller and Denise Richards, according to People.

The former Two and a Half Men star shares twin nine-year-old sons with Mueller and daughters Sam, 14, and Lola, 13, with Richards.

The filings reportedly reveal Sheen’s reasoning behind his “dire financial crisis” with less than US$10 million to his name.

“I have been unable to find steady work, and have been blacklisted from many aspects of the entertainment industry,” he alleges in the documents. “All of this has resulted in a significant reduction in my earnings.”

Sheen claims in the documents that his “income has changed significantly” since 2016, when he was ordered to pay of US$20,000 per month to Richards for Sam and Lola, and US$55,000 a month to Mueller for twins Max and Bob.

According to the documents, he also pays Richards and Mueller 9.5 per cent of his gross annual income from all sources in excess of US$2.1 million.

The documents reportedly show Sheen is “past due” on payments to his home mortgage, and pool and gardening services.

Court hearings in Sheen’s child support case have been scheduled for Sept. 18 and 26.

Sheen starred in the hit CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men for eight seasons before being dismissed in 2011 after a heated clash with the show’s producers and studio.

He made headlines in November 2015 when he publicly revealed that he was HIV-positive, while insisting he was healthy and that his partying days were over.
