Rain and hail pelted the London region last night as intense thunderstorms rumbled through the area.
In areas around Denfield there were reports of hail the size of golf balls.
Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for a large chunk of southwestern Ontario because of the system.

“The warning that was issued was based on what we saw on radar. As of now, we haven’t had any reports of damage associated with that particular thunderstorm cell,” said Desjanelle Matthews, meteorologist with Environment Canada.
“If anybody has any damage or has any reports or pictures, we’re asking them to email or tweet that information to Environment Canada,” she said.

The warning, which went out through the national alert system, was fairly short-lived in London.
As for what’s on tap in the forecast, London could see some unsettled weather Friday afternoon and into the weekend with more seasonal temperatures and less humidity, Matthews said.
