Five years after the death of Michael Sullivan comes a renewed plea to the public for information by his family and police.
Police say Sullivan was chased and struck by a black F150 pick-up truck while riding his bicycle on Barton Street East in 2013.
He later died as a result of the head injury he sustained.
According to police, a break in the homicide case could come down to a small group of people who remain tight-lipped.
They have been interviewed by investigators since Sullivan’s death and are believed to have information about the driver’s identity.
“As time passes, loyalties change, people may let something slip that may assist in the investigation,” Det.-Sgt, Peter Thom said at a press conference on Thursday.
He said the investigation to date has revealed that misinformation was at the heart of the incident.

Thom said on the day Sullivan was struck, he was on his way to purchase parts for computers that he was donating to local organizations.
During his bike ride, Thom said Sullivan interacted with several young residents in the neighbourhood.
“The driver of a black F150 pick-up truck was provided with some misinformation about Michael’s reason for being the area that day,” he said.
Sullivan’s sister Teresa Mummery said her family is no longer asking the public to help them find closure, but pleading.
“It’s been five long years, way too long. Way too long for people to not do the right thing and come forward,” she said.
Police said a $50,000 reward for information remains in effect.
