UPDATE: Man riding a go-kart killed in a crash in Maple Ridge

A 33-year-old man is dead after colliding with a pickup truck while riding a go-kart near 256th Street and 124th Ave in Maple Ridge this afternoon.

RCMP say the victim was operating an unlicenced go-cart.

He was rushed to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the pick up has remained at the scene.

Police are now trying to determine why the man was riding a go-kart on the street, but say roads were dry and weather conditions were good at the time of the crash.
