A youth was taken to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance on Thursday night, after horses pulling a wagon were spooked in the Round Lake area.
Esterhazy RCMP was called to a grid road off of Highway 247 in the Round Lake area after two horses pulling around 20 children became spooked and broke into a gallop. The wagon crossed a ditch and stopped in some trees.
The sudden stop resulted in a number of injuries, including one potentially serious injury where STARS Air Ambulance responded.
Around 15 youth were either treated at the scene by local EMS or transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
