Regina police were forced to resort to force, during the arrest of 34-year-old Christopher Matthews shortly before 11:30 this morning.
Police were called to a residence on the 100 block of Fines Drive after reports of a man causing problems. There they found Matthews wielding a knife. Despite commands from officers to drop the weapon, he refused.
Matthews was stunned with a Taser as a result and taken into custody after being assessed in hospital.
Matthews was charged with possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to public peace, and was also arrested on existing warrants.
