Bear have recently been spotted within Douglas Provincial Park, according to SaskAlert.

The alert is for the park’s core area including all campgrounds, day-use areas, picnic sites, and walking trails.

Park officials are asking people to keep items such as coolers, food, pots and pans as well as pet food stored in vehicles when not in use.

Anyone who spots a bear is asked to contact Park Watch at 1-800-667-1788.

The same advisory was issued on July 11 for Pelly, Sask. A black bear was last sighted on the east side of the village.
