Man charged after threatening employee with knife in North Battleford theft

Battlefords RCMP have a man in custody who allegedly threatened an employee with a knife at a North Battleford, Sask. store.

The theft occurred early Wednesday afternoon at a store on North Territorial Drive.

Police said a man was seen stealing items and was confronted outside the business by an employee when the alleged threat occurred.

The man is alleged to have threatened the employee with a knife before fleeing on a bicycle.

Police said a 34-year-old man wanted for the incident was arrested early Saturday evening.

He is facing theft and assault charges in connection with the incident, and theft charges related to another incident on Saturday evening at a business on East Territorial Drive.

He will appear Monday morning in North Battleford provincial court.
